Cookie Policy
Effective date: 4 September 2026
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — such as whether you are signed in — so you do not have to re-enter it each time.
Cookies TruePro uses
TruePro sets only the cookies necessary to operate the platform securely. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Session cookie
Name: _session_id
Purpose: Keeps you signed in while you navigate the platform. Without this cookie the site cannot remember your login between pages.
Duration: Deleted when you close your browser (session cookie).
Type: Strictly necessary.
CSRF protection token
Name: authenticity_token (stored in the session)
Purpose: Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks by verifying that form submissions originate from TruePro.
Duration: Session.
Type: Strictly necessary.
Remember me
Name: remember_user_token
Purpose: If you tick "Remember me" on sign-in, this cookie keeps you logged in for up to 30 days without re-entering your password.
Duration: 30 days.
Type: Functional — set only when you actively opt in by ticking "Remember me"; it is never set on a plain sign-in.
Analytics and advertising
TruePro does not currently use analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) or any advertising or tracking cookies. If this changes, this policy will be updated and, where required, you will be asked for consent first.
Third-party cookies
TruePro does not embed third-party content (social media widgets, video players) that sets cookies.
Cookie consent
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR, cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service you've requested — such as staying signed in — don't require consent. The one functional cookie we use ("Remember me") is only set when you actively tick that option at sign-in, which counts as your consent to it; we don't set it by default. Because TruePro uses no advertising or tracking cookies, a general cookie consent banner is not required. If you object to the "Remember me" cookie, simply don't tick that option — you can still sign in without it, just not stay signed in between visits.
How to manage cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Instructions for common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies
Note that deleting or blocking cookies will sign you out of TruePro and may affect the platform's functionality.
